Fox Theatre - Detroit Customers Reviews
Uncle Charle and Fantasia did not disappoint
The concert was a really fun event. But not fun, a concert can be good. In this case, it was extremely fun and really good. At one point, he had us turn to our dates and sing, "Hey girl, how ya' doin'? My name is Steve. Last name Smalley..." He gives us a full helping of all of his beloved hits, but he does extra. I love that The Cat in the Hat knows how to perform his hits. We were laughing so hard!! My wife and I LOVED this. I think that he knows how his songs move us, and he capitalizes on this. Fantasia was an incredible performance as well. She tells it like it is. She belts it. Loved it! She shares it. And she shakes it. Last but not least, this genre of music crosses culture and faith more than any other. I was stunned when Fantasia sang, "Oh the blood of Jesus". And tonight was no different. Finally. And I thanked God for performers who see their identity as performer and Christian as one in the same.
Rickey Rocks!!
My recommendation - start on time and get some police officers to monitor traffic! We took my dad as a gift to see The Cat in the Hat & Friends, and we were quite frustrated from the beginning. Once we arrived at the venue, it took another hour to get it started. We had to drive around for about 35-40 minutes before we ended up walking nearly a mile away from the facility for paid parking, which looked shady. The taping part of the show went way too long, but once The Cat in the Hat came on the stage, it truly was a laugh a second.
